Doyle’s Room…can I make my money GROW??? April 3, 2008

For a very long time Doyle’s Room was my most favorite site ever to play on.  The money on there was growing on trees and falling right into my pockets.  The first day I played on there I won a .60 mtt and it never stopped…I ended up winning 3 or 4 of those and coming in 2nd and 3rd in a few too.  I consistently cashed in their other tournaments too…both mtts and stts.  I did well at their cash tables…I could never truly lose on doyles room.  When things were becoming unstable with online poker, I dumped most of my bankroll into my bank account and just left a few dollars on there. 

After netteller took a dump and we could no longer deposit very easily, I just used my bankroll management skills and moved down to micro micro limits, sngs and freerolls only.  When doyles room was closing, I had built my bankroll up from the $7 I left in there to $210.  When they announced they were closing, I didn’t know we could move our bankroll to ft.  Hubby told me to spend a day taking big shots with what I had for a bankroll on there and if I cashed or won, we’d request a check and if I lost…no biggie.  Well lol, I lost a bunch of it before they announced we could transfer it to fulltilt so when it was time to move my money over it was almost gone lol.

Anyway…I missed doyle’s room and the money I made on there.   The first time my hubby met Doyle at a Foxwoods tournament, Doyle asked him if he played on his online site.  Hubby said no but said I did and did very well on the site.  Doyle said it was because the site was filled with foreign newbie players who were a bunch of fish lol….I actually quite agreed.  There were many tough players on there but the site definitely had a lower calibur of player on there. 

Now it’s back up and running…but for a while it just wasn’t any good.  The software stunk, there were no avatars and I had no money on there.  I played in a freeroll and won .18 and tried an .11 stt and lost…then I waited and I cashed for a few cents in another freeroll, took another shot and came in 3rd for .18 which brought me up to .24 on there.  I bubbled in the next .11 stt I played in but then won .19 in a couple different freerolls and got up to having a .30 bankroll.  I just played in a .11 nlhe stt and came in 2nd for a .27 win which brought me up to having .46 on dr.

Can I make this bankroll grow?  I logged on yesterday to see if I’d cashed in any freerolls I’d signed up for and forgot to play (rofl it actually has happened a couple of times) and they’d had a major software upgrade.  The tables are much friendlier to sit at…you can have a custom avatar on there now, it shows what you folded, it tells you where you stand with your hand at all times, you can set it up to rabbit hunt, and more.  I was excited!  I know it will never be what it was before, but I’d like to see if I can make my bankroll grow on there.  I’m struggling on other sites right now so maybe it could be a fun distraction???
