Last day of the month part deux… April 1, 2008

Hubby went in to do some work around his shop so I decided to play some poker.   I was in the mood to play some 45 player sngs on pokerstars.  I started with a $1 nlhe 45 player sng, it didn’t feel right almost right away.  I made it about 1/2 way through and then got knocked out when I moved in from the button with QK and got called with 22 (do you see this tana lol???).

I tried a $1 omaha h/l nl 45 player sng and came very close to the money finishing in 11th.  Had a big stack at my table almost the whole time and he just kept raising and moving in and I didn’t have the right type of hands to go for it. 

The last sng I played in was another $1 nlhe 45 player one.  It was an interesting sng.  My first table was very loose…I raised utg with KK, a short stack moved in and a big stack re-raised all in to isolate him…I called and the ss had 77 and the bs had TT and I tripled up.  I then got moved to another table where I didn’t play a hand for a while.  I had Q4 in the bb, checked my option and the flop came Q43 rainbow.  I checked hoping to induce a bet and was rewarded with a bettor.  I re-raised to set him in and he quick called with 77…he says nh,gg to me and then hits his 7 on the turn, sigh sigh sigh.  That always seems to happen when someone says nh before the hand is over lol.

He says to me “oops, my bad…thought you were one of those donk players”.  Yep, your right…first hand I’ve played in the room in almost two rounds and I’m one of those donk players lol.  I moved on…I still had plenty of chips.  Got moved to another table and lost half my chips to another bad all in call.  Moved in a couple times and got my stack back up there.  Made to the final table and into the money.  One player then knocked out two players at once leaving us 5 handed.  I was pretty short at that time and moved all in utg with AJ off for 40 more chips than the bb and it was folded around to him…he had 31K in chips and FOLDED TO MY 40 CHIP RAISE.

Soooo….everyone at the table started freaking out and crying collusion and they were going to report us, blah blah blah.  The big stack had clicked check/fold and wasn’t paying attention so when I raised my extra 40 chips it folded his hand.  Not my fault…soooo not my fault lol.  Two hands later I was in the sb with 33 and it was folded around to me…I raised all in (which was 5x the bb) and the bb who was mad at the 40 chip fold called with a rag hand and hit his rag on the river to knock me out in 5th.

Quite an interesting evening with a very small profit at the end of it…very small profit rofl.
